In wireless ad hoc networks, since all nodes share the common communication medium, attackers can easily launch a variety of attacks ranging from passive eavesdropping from active interfering. For example, a simple and straight-forward attack is jamming attack, where attackers can disrupt the other nodes' normal

This thesis is a contribution in the field of security analysis on mobile ad-hoc networks, and security requirements of applications. Limitations of the mobile nodes have been studied in order to design a secure routing protocol that thwarts different kinds of attacks. Our approach is based on the Zone Routing Protocol (ZRP);
networks that does not rely on fixed servers or public key cryptography. This key establishment scheme is integrated with an existing routing scheme for ad hoc networks. The security and efficiency of the resulting scheme are analyzed. Finally, the thesis deals with privacy in ad hoc networks. The state of the art.
